I walk through the dripping cavern, ducking down from the stalactites as I move towards the glowing embers. My hand stays tight on my sword, breath wavering as I make it to the mouth of the cave.

My eyes shine with a thousand specks of gold, the mountains of coins bright like the fires around them. What I’d been seeking all these years was finally in my grasp, the smooth metal pinched between my fingers as I open my bag.

Right as I drop the first batch into the cloth, a roar erupts from the cave, the walls shaking as something moves in the darkest corner. Fire bellows from the mouth of the beast, illuminating it’s scaled features as it stares into my eyes. The rage of a beast that my greed has awoken. The trial I must pass in order to get what I desire.

I grab my sword from its sheath, raising it towards the creature. The fight begins.
