I let out an almost inhuman sound, the pain melting into the black of my vision. I come to after what was only a few seconds, the blood spurting from my open limb. Andrew quickly grabs a rope, making a tourniquet as he looked down at me with a smile.

“Sorry about that. I meant to aim for the wrist. My vision isn’t what it used to be.”

“Just… Get out of here,” I mutter, looking over at Vivienne with weak eyes.
“I warned you Lysander. Don’t mess with the captain or she will bite back.”

Soon I am alone, slowly moving over to my bed with teary eyes. I fall onto the hard cushion, letting out a sob through gritted teeth. I will not let this ruin me. I will stay strong. I will get them back.
